In this class, we will step into the world of hand knitted socks! Learn the “Magic Loop” technique to create a top-down ribbed sock with a heel flap and gusset construction that ends with a star toe. We will use DK weight yarn to magnify our work , and allow us to move a bit more efficiently through learning techniques for socks. These are squishy, cozy socks to wear around the house or in your boots.

Week 1: Stretchy cast on, setting up magic loop, start ribbing and leg
Week 2: Heel flap, heel turn
Week 3: Picking up gusset stitches, gusset decreases
Week 4: Foot of sock, finishing toe

Skills Required:

• Solid comfort with knitting and purling in the round.  Prior knowledge of the Magic Loop technique for knitting in the round is not required

• DK weight yarn - Adult small 250 yards, Adult medium 300 yards,        Adult large 350 yards
• 32" or 40" US #3 (3.25 mm) cirucular needles
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
