Knit a Little Sweater Class

Do you have a "little" in your life (age newborn to 10 years) who needs a special hand-knit sweater? Or, are you new to sweater knitting, and would like to learn solid sweater construction in pint-size form before taking on a larger garment? This class is for you! These patterns offer clear instruction and beautiful attention to detail. This is a fun and popular class with guidance from cast-on to finishing, and all the steps in-between. From this class, several students have launched successful sweater knitting journeys.

Skills Required:

Solid comfort with beginning knitting and purling skills, and working in the round. We will have ample time to review additional skills for sweater construction, and specific design techniques in the patterns.

  • "Knit a Little" by Marie Green of Olive Knits.  A collection of 12 stylish baby and Kids sweater knits, with coordinated hats for the whole family.
  • Yarn, needles, notions as indicated for the sweater pattern of your choice. 
  • Decide which sweater pattern from the book you would like to knit.
  • If you are comfortable in doing so, feel free to swatch and wash the swatch before the first class.  However, there is time for questions and discussion on swatching in the first class.
  • Please note, if your sweater is knit in the round (not flat), your swatch should be knit in the round.  This is a reference for speed swatching in the round,
Age minimum - Sixteen years of age
Class minimum - 3 students
If the class minimum is not met, students will be notified prior to the class start date and a full refund will be given.
