Colorwork Mittens

Join us for a cozy and colorful class where you'll learn how to knit stranded colorwork mittens—perfect for chilly days and thoughtful gifts. We will knit the Frost Mittens by Inger Berg, based on a traditional Norwegian pattern. This is a perfect class to refine your colorwork skills to include small circumference knitting, learning paired increases and decreases, and tensioning. A Lativian braid(s) may be added, if desired.
Skill Requirements:
Solid comfort with stranded colorwork knitting in the round.
Materials List:
- Purchase the “Frost Mittens” pattern here Frost Mittens by Inger Berg
- DK weight yarn in two contrasting colors; ~ 100 grams of each color
- US 3 needles for small circumference knitting
- Needle size may be adjusted depending on your tension. Consider US 4 needle, if you knit tightly.
- US 2 needle for small circumference knitting, if you wish to add Lativian braid details.
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Small sticky note, highlighter tape, or other method to keep track of charted information.
Homework
No homework before the first class.
Age minimum - Sixteen years of age
Class minimum - 3 students
If the class minimum is not met, students will be notified prior to the class start date and a full refund will be given.
