How to Choose Clothes You’ll Actually Wear

The goal of this workshop is for you to learn the skills to make clothes you'll actually wear using principles of design such as texture, color, and garment shape. We will be exploring Ravelry and Acorn Street Shop's selection of fiber to practice aligning patterns, fiber, and the pattern designer’s personal vision. These are just a few elements that will be discussed. If you want to better understand which questions to ask to guide your makes, this class is for you.
Skill requirements: An appreciation of color and fiber.
Materials
Students: Bring your favorite 1-2 articles of clothing; an article of clothing you dislike; pencils and pens for writing and drawing.
The instructor will supply worksheets for brainstorming and an external monitor and a laptop/charger for the presentation.
Homework
- Review your wardrobe and make a list of clothing/things you need and want.
- Select and bring to class one beloved article of clothing.
- Select and bring to class one detested article of clothing.
Age minimum - Sixteen years of age
Class minimum - 1 student
If the class minimum is not met, students will be notified prior to the class start date and a full refund will be given.
